Let's get together and make Sugarloaf less vulnerable to wildfire!  Here's how...
  • Be at least 18 years old OR be accompanied by a parent or guardian (read our family-friendly Policy on Children at Saws & Slaws Events)
  • Sign the Volunteer Agreement and give it to the event coordinator
  • Follow the Safety Protocol (it's attached to the Volunteer Agreement)
  • Bring food to share at the potluck
  • Arrive at the event at 7:45 a.m. for project orientation (early but worth it!)
To participate in a SAWS event, you must...
Directions/map to event site
Food to share
Sturdy footwear
Eye protection
Work gloves
Plenty of water
Clothing appropriate for the conditions you might encounter
Chaps and helmets are mandatory for sawyers

Folding chair for potluck
Hearing protection (SAWS will have foam earplugs)
Things to bring...
Whether you choose to strut your culinary prowess or just grab a big bag of chips from the store, your donation to the potluck feast will be appreciated.   Although SAWS will provide plastic utensils, paper plates, cups, and napkins, please bring any special items (such as a large serving spoon or tongs) that your dish might require.  Because the host's refrigerator space is limited, please try to bring a cooler and ice if your dish requires refrigeration.  Occasionally a grill is available at the event site; e-mail us a few days in advance if you'd like to know if a grill will be available for your use.
